Instagram (and its sepia-tinted filters) have had a huge effect on mainstream photography. Now, this influence is leaking through to the marketing world with new research showing that fake polaroid images and natural-looking pictures have stronger appeal than traditional stock photos when it comes to online display ads and marketing materials. Another recent mobile phenomenon Tinder- the swipe-away dating app- looks set to include ads for the first time. eBay have become the latest victims in cybercrime, urging all customers to change their passwords after a massive hack attack. The online marketplace has since come under criticism for its delayed announcement as the attack took place several months ago - showing that timing is key when it comes to customer relations and security.
