Journalist-powered search engine tackles 'fake news'

French news organisation Liberation decided to take on a fight against fake news and hoaxes to clean the information landscape when the French presidential election entered its final stage in March last year. The result, Liberation took a bold step to stop the bleed and countered the algorithms that connect news article together without considering sources and created the first human search engine by gathering a team of journalists to answer any question asked with curated and sourced information. It started with “Desintox”, an exclusive twitter service before launching Checknews, the slowest search engine on the market, also, its most reliable.

Milka lets consumers send ‘last square’ to friends

In a digital twist on the classic ‘last Rolo’ ads, Milka has launched a new campaign that lets consumers pick who receives the last square of their chocolate bar. The confectionery brand has taken the last square from over 13 Million Milka Chocolate bars and are giving people the chance to claim their square back or give it to someone else. The campaign builds on the French brand’s current positioning of ‘Osez la tendresse’, or ‘Dare to be tender’. Paris-based Buzzman had the concept of the missing square and is behind the marketing campaign. The campaign was no mean feat, as it meant Milka had to alter its manufacturing process to create 10 million blocks of chocolate with a single piece missing.

TV channel G4 gets 3,800 app installs from mobile CPC banner campaign

TV channel G4 used mobile ads as a cost-effective way to get consumers to install their Android App. G4 used CPC text and banner ads on the AdMob mobile display network reached its target audience. The campaign drove over 3,800 installs and a 8.01% conversion rate for the campaign over all.
